Via del Pratello’s History

Originally named Peradello, the street was lined with pear trees, just as other nearby streets were named after walnut (Nosadella) and ash trees (Frassinago).

Its history dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries, evolving from a hub for the underprivileged to a center for artisan shops and political movements. Today, it remains a symbol of resistance, celebrated each year with the “Pratello R’esiste” festival every 25th of April.

Here is Psiko’s haunting painting: a man and a woman bound and gagged, ready to face the gallows. Psiko, born in Turin and now based in Ferrara, is a self-taught artist specializing in paintings and murals, with a recent passion for pixel art, glitch art, and the concept of “image fragmentation.”

Maya-inspired depictions can be seen in the works of Etilf Pep and Noncicredo.

Dedicated to women, the art of Leticia Mandragora, an Italian-Spanish artist, focuses on female heroines. Her traditionally blue portraits feature iconic figures such as Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca, Grazia Deledda, and Sofia Loren.
