by 29, Sep, 2026Greece, Greece

Looking for Breathtaking Views in Corfu? Get ready to discover turquoise bays, white cliffs and viewpoints that look like they have come straight out of a postcard… and some of them will definitely leave you a little out of breath!

When I planned my trip to Corfu, I was mainly thinking about the beaches, the crystal-clear sea and the little villages to visit. Then, day after day, I realised that some of the things that surprised me the most were actually the views: the ones that suddenly appear after a bend, the ones that are worth leaving the car and walking a little for, and the ones that make you stop with your phone in your hand without even knowing where to start taking pictures.

So, in this article, I want to take you to discover some of the breathtaking views in Corfu that I came across during my itinerary, from the most famous ones to those that require a little more effort to reach.

The most beautiful views in Corfu

There are stunning views of Corfu that you earn by following a trail, like the ones at Porto Timoni, and others that are practically accessible by car, like Kanoni. There are the spectacular white cliffs of Cape Drastis, the bays of Paleokastritsa, the unusual rock formations of Canal d’Amour and countless viewpoints where it is simply worth stopping for a few minutes.

If you are wondering what to see in Corfu, these places are perfect for creating an itinerary that is not all about beaches. And in my opinion, this is one of the best ways to discover the island: alternating a day at the beach with a village, a scenic walk or a road leading towards a new perspective over the Ionian Sea.

So let me tell you about my favourites, together with all the practical information I wish I had before leaving: where to park, how much walking is involved, what kind of shoes to wear and, above all, when it is really worth tackling a climb to enjoy some of the most beautiful Sea Views in Corfu.

Porto Timoni: the view worth the effort

If I had to choose just one place to represent the Breathtaking Views in Corfu in Greece, I would probably choose Porto Timoni. The famous double bay is located near the village of Afionas, on the northwestern coast of the island. Its special feature is its shape: two small beaches separated by a strip of land, with the sea opening out on both sides. From above, it almost looks like a landscape drawn by hand.

And yes, the view is spectacular. But getting there requires a little effort.

How to get to Porto Timoni on foot

The trail starts in the village of Afionas. Once you have left your car, you need to walk through part of the village and follow the signs for Porto Timoni. Even during the first section, you start seeing beautiful views over the coast.

The trail changes quite quickly: from the village road you move onto a dirt track and then a rocky path, with some fairly steep downhill sections. The descent towards the bays takes approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on your pace and how often you stop. The problem is not so much the distance, but the uneven terrain and the fact that the way back is entirely uphill.

I would definitely recommend trainers with a good sole here. I would happily leave flip-flops in the car.

The interesting thing is that you do not actually have to reach the beaches to enjoy the scenery. The viewpoint along the trail already offers some stunning views of Corfu, and many people stop right there.

Where to park in Afionas

There are two paid car parks in Afionas. Prices are €10 for the one at the beginning of the village and €15 for the one closer to the trail, which is definitely expensive! IF you manage to find a parking space along the road, you can save this money, but you should arrive early in the morning because spaces disappear quickly.

Also be careful not to leave your car just anywhere: the official Afionas website recommends not parking on yellow lines or on bends and using the existing car parks instead, so that the road is not obstructed.

Once you reach the viewpoint, take your time. I certainly would not have been in a hurry to walk down: in front of you there is one of those Picture-Perfect views in Corfu that almost seem unreal.

Cape Drastis: white cliffs and blue sea

If Porto Timoni is the view of the two bays, Cape Drastis is all about the cliffs. It is located in the extreme northwest of the island, near Peroulades, and is characterised by spectacular pale rock formations plunging into the sea. The landscape here is completely different from Porto Timoni: there are no enclosed little coves, but a wilder, more open coastline shaped by erosion.

It is one of the places I would absolutely include on a list of What to See in Corfu, especially if you enjoy photographing landscapes from above!

Parking and walking to Cape Drastis

The road towards Cape Drastis becomes unpaved during the final section. With a rental car, especially if you do not have a 4×4, I would avoid continuing along the roughest part: it is much safer to park where the paved section ends and continue on foot. Some local guides specifically warn of the risk of damaging the underside of your car along the dirt road.

From there, the walk is considerably easier than the one to Porto Timoni: around 10 minutes to reach the main viewpoint.

Do not expect a proper equipped beach, though: Cape Drastis is mainly a place to admire from above. Some small coves at the bottom of the cliffs are more easily reached by sea.

Paleokastritsa: the bays from above

Paleokastritsa deserves a chapter of its own. It is probably one of the best-known areas of Corfu, and I completely understand why. Here, the landscape is made up of bays, green headlands, crystal-clear water and mountains that seem to plunge almost directly into the sea. The first time you look down from above, you immediately understand why it is considered one of the most scenic areas of the island.

Among the views from above, Paleokastritsa offers some of the most complete sea views in Corfu: you have the sea in front of you, the hills behind you and a series of little bays following one another along the coastline.

The view from the Monastery of the Virgin of Paleokastritsa

One of the easiest ways to admire Paleokastritsa from above is to drive up to the Monastery of the Virgin of Paleokastritsa.

The road takes you practically to the entrance, so there is no demanding hike involved. Once you have parked the car, you can visit the monastery and enjoy the viewpoints around the complex.
Another interesting perspective is the Metal Cross Vantage Point, a viewpoint that is particularly popular for its views over the coast.

If you are preparing a list of What to See in Corfu, I would not leave Paleokastritsa off the list, even if you only have a few days.

Canal d’Amour: the coast shaped by wind and sea

Canal d’Amour, in Sidari, is completely different from the other places mentioned so far. Here we do not have huge panoramic views from above like at Porto Timoni, but sandstone formations shaped by erosion, little channels, arches and rocky walls with truly unusual shapes. It is one of the most recognisable landscapes on the northern coast of Corfu.

The best thing is that there is no demanding hike. You can drive to Sidari, park in one of the available areas nearby and then reach the rock formations with a short walk.

I recommend arriving in the afternoon and staying until sunset. The warm light on the sandstone walls completely changes the appearance of the place and makes it simply magical!

Kanoni and the view of Vlacherna Monastery

If there is one photograph you have probably already seen before even arriving in Corfu, it is the one of Kanoni with Vlacherna Monastery and Pontikonisi in the background.

It is a very different landscape from the wild scenery of the north, but for me it remains one of the most beautiful Picture-Perfect Views in Corfu.

The special thing about Kanoni is that you can also see the airport runway, with planes landing and taking off right above this panorama. The viewpoint is easy to reach both by car and on foot; you can conveniently park either at the level of the monastery or above, using Kanoni Café as a landmark.

From here, you can also walk down towards Vlacherna Monastery, which is connected to the mainland by a small walkway. No excursion is needed: comfortable shoes and a little time are all you need.

For me, it is particularly beautiful around sunset, when the light becomes warmer and Pontikonisi stands out against the sea.

Other viewpoints to add to your list

Corfu is full of places where it is worth stopping even for just ten minutes. In Afionas, the village itself and the hiking route offer several viewpoints, including Goulas and Louloudi, overlooking the coast and Agios Georgios Beach.

The road towards Paleokastritsa also offers one interesting view after another. In this case, my advice is simple: if you see a safe place to pull over, first check that parking is allowed and then give yourself a few minutes to enjoy the scenery.

You do not always have to reach a famous attraction to find Breathtaking Views in Corfu.

Which viewpoints should you choose if you are short on time?

If you only have a few days and need to make a selection, I would divide the places according to the type of experience you are looking for.

Porto Timoni is the one to choose if you want the most iconic view and do not mind hiking.

Cape Drastis is perfect if you want a spectacular view with a much shorter walk.

Paleokastritsa is the choice if you want to combine scenery, beaches and a visit to the monastery.

Canal d’Amour is ideal if you are interested in unusual rock formations and want an easy walk.

Kanoni, on the other hand, is perfect if you are looking for an easily accessible, highly photogenic spot that is particularly beautiful at sunset.

These are five very different landscapes, and I think that is exactly what makes Corfu so interesting. Together, they also offer some of the most Stunning Views of Corfu without requiring the same type of effort or time.

Renting a car in Corfu: my choice

If you really want to explore the island and reach even the more remote beaches and viewpoints, I think renting a car in Corfu is a very convenient solution. Having a car allows you to move around independently, stop whenever you want and, above all, not depend on bus schedules, which I found particularly useful when organising my days. I used Discover Cars to compare the different options and find the car that best suited my needs. Psss… choose a FIAT PANDA! It is unstoppable on the little roads of Corfu!!!!!

If you are thinking about renting a car in Corfu, you can take a look at the available offers and compare prices and conditions before booking.

One thing I learned during this trip is that you do not need to rush to tick every place off your map.

Some of my favourite moments were actually those when I simply walked for a few minutes and stopped to look at the sea.

There are countless Picture-Perfect Views in Corfu, but not all of them require an entire day. Sometimes all you need is twenty minutes and a camera.

And probably some of the Sea Views in Corfu that you will remember for the longest could be the ones you had not planned at all…. But perhaps that is exactly what makes the island so special: you can set off looking for a beach and suddenly find yourself standing in front of one of the most Breathtaking Views in Corfu.
